A leading broadband commentator has praised a number of UK internet service providers (ISPs) for their price/performance balance.
Mark Jackson, Editor and Founder of ISPreview.co.uk, recognised Be Broadband, O2, Sky and Virgin Media for offering high-quality broadband to consumers on a budget.
Writing for the news provider, he singled out the "massive speeds" offered by Virgin Media – the firm recently launched a 100Mb fibre service – as being a major plus for the ISP, but also recognised the quality of its broadband bundles and affordable prices.
The ISP is "by no means perfect", Mr Jackson added, referring to its limited cable coverage, but its services are a viable, moderate-cost option.
He noted that Sky offers fair pricing, "reasonable to good" performance, a fair level of consumer support, and commented that the availability of broadband packages without a TV subscription is a major advance.
Be and O2 were said to offer "good to excellent" performance for the price of their broadband deals, plus reasonable customer support.
Mr Jackson commented that paying less is "not always a good idea", but these four ISPs represent the best options for those looking to minimise their broadband cost outlay.
