Virgin Media has announced plans to broadcast coverage of the 2011 Cannes Film Festival for its broadband and TV bundle customers.
The digital TV provider has linked up with French film and lifestyle channel Cinemoi to present the 64th staging of the event to UK audiences.
Virgin Media subscribers will be able to watch a season of shows covering all aspects of the world-famous festival, including event highlights, celebrity interviews and cult films.
Programmes will air live on Virgin TV channel 445 throughout the festival, which draws to a close on May 22nd.
Chat show host and movie enthusiast Jonathan Ross – who described Cannes as "undoubtedly one of the most exciting and glamorous events of the film year" – will be fronting Cinemoi's coverage.
Cindy Rose, Executive Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said the broadband provider was delighted to be bringing the best of the film festival straight to subscribers' TVs.
