Fibre broadband provider the i3 Group has been unaffected by the appointment of an administrator to its former holding company, it has been claimed.

Michael Norris, Chief Financial Officer at the firm, explained that i3 continues to operate as normal under its new owner Mochdre Limited.

He commented that i3 International Limited and Fibre Associates Limited will "continue to grow the i3 brand across the across the international markets in which it has always operated".

"All companies in the new organisation will be rebranded to emphasise their links to the i3 brand," Mr Norris added.

Earlstown Technology Limited went into administration on May 24th 2011.

This followed a Serious Fraud Office investigation into the alleged misconduct of Total Asset Finance – the main source of funding for 100Mb broadband rollouts in Bournemouth and Dundee.

Earlier this year, the i3 Group sold its interest in the fibre broadband initiatives to CityFibre Holdings.
