Virgin Media has launched a Harry Potter app to complement its cutting-edge TiVo service.

The app, timed to celebrate the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 this week, contains a range of content for fans of the super-popular film series.

Virgin Media's TiVo service offers customers a live TV schedule replete with catch-up TV, a library of on-demand programming and a variety of web-based applications.

The app contains a range of Harry Potter content to whet fans' appetites for the last instalment in the franchise, released nationwide tomorrow (Friday July 15th).

To complement the new app, Harry Potter fans will also be able to re-live the magic of six of the Harry Potter films on Virgin Media.

Cindy Rose, Executive Director of digital entertainment at Virgin Media, said: "There is no better way to celebrate the hugely successful Harry Potter series than by giving fans cherished footage of the stars that have made Hogwarts a household name.

"The Virgin Media TiVo service presents a whole new digital entertainment experience for consumers who want more from their TV, and this app is a magnificent example of the unique services we're capable of delivering."
