Broadband provider KC has started the rollout of fibre services in its East Yorkshire heartlands.
The firm has connected the first of 330 new fibre-enabled customers in Woodmansey with 100Mb broadband, reports ISPreview.co.uk.
Residents in the village, which lies on the outskirts of Beverley, are participating in a two-month pilot scheme, ahead of a wider super-fast broadband rollout.
Eventually, as many as 15,000 homes could stand to benefit from 100Mb broadband in the Humber area.
Nick Thomson, KC's Director of Consumer Services, said the firm was "delighted" to kick off installations of fibre-optic broadband in Woodmansey.
"It's been great to hear the extremely positive feedback KC is already receiving from our customers who've been connected so far," he stated.
"This fibre programme represents a key element in KC's ongoing commitment to providing the fastest broadband possible in the areas our network covers."
KC offers broadband deals to East Yorkshire home and businesses under the Karoo brand.
