Karoo has announced the official launch of its 100Mbps superfast broadband.

The Hull and East Riding-based company has released its KC Lightstream and KC Lightstream Business options for just £5 a month more than its standard packages which offer speeds of up to 24Mbps.

Package prices start at £25 a month for broadband only and £35 for broadband and home phone services.

It is hoped that the new service will extend to 15,000 local homes and businesses before the end of the year. The first area to get connected to the new service is Grovehill in Beverley from February 6th.

Priory Park business park in Hessle, Barnsley Street, Belmont Street and Buckingham Street off Holderness Road, a number of East Yorkshire villages and a range of city centre residences will all benefit from the superfast broadband in its first few months.

Kevin Walsh, KC's Chief Executive Officer, said: “We’ve embarked on this ambitious fibre roll-out to give our customers the best-connected homes and businesses in the UK.

"At the heart of our plan is an investment in the future of Hull and East Yorkshire that has the potential to transform the region’s fortunes and make us an attractive location for further public and private sector investment.”
