BT Vision has taken to micro blogging site Twitter to advertise the start of its new Sci-Fi Season.

Subscribers with the broadband provider can watch a variety of science fiction-themed movies on-demand this month, tuning in at their own convenience.

"What's that strange light, hovering overhead? Why, it's our Sci-fi Season! Permission to geek out: granted," BT Vision tweeted.

Among the films available to BT Vision subscribers on Box Office - described as "the home of pay-per-view movies" - are Star Trek, Another Earth and Chronicle.

Viewers can also watch the entire Alien collection and tune into The Thing among other titles on BT Vision this month.

"Get set for some out-of-this-world entertainment," BT said.

Last week, it was reported that BT has acquired live TV rights to Premier League football from the 2013-14 season.

BT TV subscribers will be able to tune into 38 live matches per year, with Sky broadcasting a further 116.
