Virgin Media has arranged an online support session designed specifically for customers seeking more information on the firm's speed boost.

Earlier this year, the cable broadband provider announced plans to double the download speeds of four million subscribers at no extra cost.

The upgrade - which started in March and is scheduled to take 18 months - will allow many consumers to access speeds of up to 120Mb.

However, some customers have contacted the firm seeking greater clarity on when they are likely to benefit from the network investment.

The firm claimed on its Twitter account this week that double speeds are "on their way", noting that subscribers can use its postcode checker to assess the upgrade schedule.

But in a bid to ease any concerns held by subscribers, the firm has organised a live support session on social media website Facebook.

Consumers will have the opportunity to get in touch directly with Virgin Media speed expert Billy Whizz on the site at 6pm on Thursday June 21st.
