Plusnet news

Broadband provider Plusnet has upgraded its network capacity as the firm gears up for further growth.

The firm increased the capacity of its 21st Century Network (21CN) host links by 2400Mb on Monday July 2nd.

"It's these host links that we use to deliver bandwidth to the majority of customers on our 21CN and fibre services," explained Matt Taylor, from the Plusnet Customer Support team.

"We're activating this extra capacity in line with the current budget, customers' usage habits and our projected growth in customer numbers."

Last week, Plusnet's Martyn Hudson explained that broadband subscribers stand to benefit from ongoing upgrades to BT's national broadband infrastructure.

Plusnet - a wholesale user of BT's network - is currently trialling 80Mb fibre-to-the-cabinet and 330Mb fibre-to-the-premises services, he noted.
