Given the choice between any of the 'Big Six' home broadband providers, more consumers would opt for Virgin Media than any other firm.
This is one of the main findings from a recent ISPreview.co.uk study into broadband customer service, which sought responses from 1,068 consumers.
The news provider found that 30.5 per cent of the survey sample would select Virgin Media, with BT the next most popular choice (20 per cent).
Some 14.5 per cent of respondents said Sky would be their provider of choice, while 10.7 per cent would select O2.
TalkTalk came fifth with 5.2 per cent of the vote, with just 1.4 per cent of consumers opting for Orange in the hypothetical scenario.
A further 17.5 per cent of consumers said they would not know which of the six main home broadband providers to select given this restricted choice.
