Broadband & Business

Companies based at a North Yorkshire business park are set for a broadband speeds boost which could make them more competitive.

York Data Services has announced plans to spend £50,000 bringing fibre broadband to firms on the Thorp Arch Estate near Wetherby.

At least 100 of the 140 companies located at the site are set for an upgrade, which will provide faster download and upload speeds.

Mark Fordyce, Managing Director of York Data Services, said the firm was pleased to give Thorp Arch Estate tenants access to the region’s fastest broadband speeds.

"[This will] enable them to take advantage of the latest cloud services to compete locally and globally," he stated.

Tim Munns, Director of Wharfedale Property Management Ltd - which manages the park - said super-fast broadband is as important to businesses as their physical location in the 21st century world of business.
