Broadband provider TalkTalk is to hire 500 new engineers to install YouView systems into UK households, it has been announced.
Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph, the firm's Chief Executive Officer Dido Harding explained that the company is increasing its headcount to 2,800.
Consumers signing up for a TalkTalk Plus broadband package can currently receive a free set-top box - which ordinarily retails at £299.
This allows consumers to access a variety of on-demand TV content and catch-up services from broadcasters including the BBC, ITV, Channel Four and Channel Five.
Ms Harding explained that YouView subscribers will be required to pay £50 for an engineer visit - but then they will be able to enjoy the benefits of IPTV services.
"This will be the first time TalkTalk engineers have been going into people's homes," she explained.
"We want to make absolutely sure that they're the right people with the right manner as well as appropriate skills."
