With Champions League football returning to TV screens this week, Virgin Media has launched a new TiVo app designed to optimise the viewing experience.

Customers with a Virgin Media TiVo and Sky Sports subscription can now choose between eight games at any one time.

As reported by Recombu, the new app - designed for Virgin Media's pay-TV customers - provides notifications when a goal is scored in one of the other games.

Viewers can opt to have a scoreline banner run along the bottom of their screens, or use the arrows or number keys to switch between live matches.

They can also view breaking news, group tables, fixtures and records relating to past editions of Europe's premier club competition.

The Champions League app will be available by pressing the Red Button when any Champions League match is Live.

Virgin Media subscribers can take advantage of the football application at no extra charge.
