New and existing BT customers can now sign up for YouView, as the provider launches a range of deals for the popular hybrid digital TV service.

Customers can get a free YouView box with several triple play bundles, led by the 18-month BT Broadband and Evening & Weekend Calls + TV Unlimited package, which offers subscribers a £25 Sainsbury's gift card.

This gives customers the YouView box with unlimited access to on-demand programming, download speeds of up to 16Mb and a 10GB usage allowance for £12.50 for the first six months, rising to £25.50 afterwards, plus line rental from £10.75.

It also features inclusive UK landline calls, evening and weekend calls and discounted international calls.

The YouView set-top box comes with a one-off £49 activation charge. Existing BT Vision customers can also upgrade to YouView for £49 but will need to be out of their minimum term contract in order to renew it for YouView.

YouView offers the standard freeview channels as well as on-demand services like BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, 4OD and Five On Demand, giving customers access to more than 100 digital TV and radio channels and allowing them to 'scroll back' through seven days' worth of content.

Anyone taking a YouView box from BT will also gain access to BT Vision, where thousands of TV shows, movies and music videos are available to stream, alongside freeview and catch-up content.

"With YouView from BT not only can customers experience a great new way to watch TV they will also be able to access a huge range of on-demand content from BT Vision," said Alex Green, Director of TV at BT Retail.
