Plusnet has been named Employer of the Year at the Yorkshire Post's annual Excellence in Business Awards.
The Sheffield-based broadband provider - which employs over 700 people - received the accolade at a ceremony at Queens Hotel, Leeds.
Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, made a keynote speech at the event, which was attended by companies from across the region.
The judges said Plusnet was chosen because it manages to keep an informal and friendly culture alive despite its evolution into a national brand.
In addition, the panel praised the fact that every member of staff is encouraged to get involved at the company.
Jamie Ford, Chief Executive Officer at Plusnet, said the firm was "delighted" to receive the award.
"The reasons the judges gave to award Plusnet this honour are truly reflective of every individual who works here having the same aim – to make our business a great place to work."
