Sky will continue to show NBCUniversal films after agreeing a new licensing agreement with the US entertainment company.

UK households subscribing to a TV, home phone and broadband bundle will have access to new and archive NBCUniversal titles on Sky Movies.

This means Sky Movies will have the UK premieres for films such as Anna Karenina, Les Miserables, The Man with the Iron Fists, Ted, Despicable Me 2 and About Time.

Customers will also be able to enjoy classic movies such as Jurassic Park, Back to the Future, Gladiator and Scarface via 11 Sky Movies channels, Sky Go, NOW TV and Sky's on-demand TV service.

Ian Lewis, Director of Sky Movies, said the firm is "delighted" to have extended its long-standing relationship with NBCUniversal.

"The combination of NBCU’s hit movies with Sky’s innovation will give customers an unrivalled in-home movies experience," he stated.

"Whether it’s The Bourne Legacy on-demand, Despicable Me in 3D, or Ted on the go, Sky Movies customers will enjoy the biggest and best selection of movies on their terms - and at least a year ahead of any other subscription service."
