Broadcaster Clare Balding is to join BT Sport to host her own chat show, it has been announced.

The Channel 4 racing host, who was part of the BBC team for the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, is set to interview some of the biggest names in sport.

Balding's weekly show will appear on the BT Sport platform, which launches this year with live top-flight football and rugby union action.

The service provider will also show live coverage of ATP World Tour women's tennis among other sports.

"I'd like to thank BT for giving me the opportunity to present my own magazine-style programme in which I can interview iconic sports stars and discuss newsworthy and stimulating topics," she stated.

"I'm enthused by BT's vision for sports coverage in the future and particularly their support of women's sport, an issue about which I feel very strongly."

Ms Balding described the show as "an exciting new venture", saying she cannot wait to get started.
