Jamie Carragher is to join the Sky Sports punditry team for the 2013-14 football season, it has been reported.

According to the Daily Mail, the retiring Liverpool defender will join Gary Neville, Graeme Souness and Jamie Redknapp as part of the studio line-up.

The Anfield stalwart previously appeared on TV screens as part of the ITV punditry team during the 2012 European Championship in Ukraine and Poland.

The 35-year-old was praised for his outspoken views and willingness to disagree with other guests, the news provider stated.

Gary Neville remarked on Sky Sports' new signing on his Twitter feed, joking about the number of ex-Liverpool players he will be appearing alongside.

"Utd v Liv should be interesting next year - Souness, Redknapp and Carragher! Outnumbered!! Going to need a strong ref!" he stated.
