Xbox One users may be able to stream BT Sport channels via their consoles, it has been suggested.

TechRadar reports that Microsoft's revamped gaming unit - which is set to launch in 2013 - will potentially offer access to BT's new sports platform.

A spokesperson for BT told the news provider that the firm will be talking to Microsoft about Xbox One, with a view to a link-up.

The representative said discussions between the two parties would take place after BT Sport launches in August 2013.

Microsoft recently announced that Xbox One users in the US will be able to stream ESPN sports coverage to the console.

And with BT Sport taking over ESPN's UK channels, TechRadar believes a similar agreement could be in the pipeline in Britain.

Earlier this week, Pocket-lint reported that Sky is open to an agreement with Microsoft over pay-TV access on the Xbox One console.

A representative for Sky told the news provider that the firm has "a long track-record of innovating with Microsoft on the Xbox platform", and it is willing to explore future opportunities.
