BT Sport will offer regular behind-the-scenes content and interviews from the Etihad stadium after becoming an official partner of Manchester City FC.

The subscription sports broadcaster will meet up with the Manchester City TV team regularly on match days from the renamed BT City Square, outside the club's ground.

BT Sport says this will give viewers "an even better match-day experience before and after home games" - whether they are City fans or not.

As part of the new three-year arrangement, BT Sport will show weekly interviews from key members of the playing squad, alongside other themed content.

Simon Green, Head of BT Sport, said the firm is "thrilled" to become an official partner of the 2011-12 Barclays Premier League champions.

"At BT Sport, we look to reflect the passion of sports fans and to create unique, engaging content and this partnership helps to give us the inside track," he stated.

Tom Glick, Chief Commercial & Operating Officer for Manchester City FC, claimed BT Sport will be "a fantastic addition to the Premier League family" this season.

He said the platform is "adding a new dimension to what is widely regarded as the most popular and globally watched league in the world".

"Having invested heavily in both on-screen talent and high quality programming, the new channel is set to not only be a big hit with BT customers, but football fans as a whole," Mr Glick stated.

BT Sport is to show 38 live matches from the Barclays Premier League in 2013-14, including 18 of the top-pick games.

As part of the first round of televised fixtures, Manchester City's home matches against Hull City (August 31st) and Everton (October 5th) are to air on the subscription sports platform.
