An increasing number of UK consumers are taking advantage of Sky Go, it has been revealed.
In its latest published accounts, Sky revealed viewing figures for the mobile TV service have risen significantly in the last 12 months.
The broadband, home phone and TV provider explained that Sky Sports viewing on Sky Go was up by more than 40 per cent year-on-year during Q3 2013.
An even more impressive rate of increase was seen for Sky Movies, with almost 50 per cent more films watched via the mobile portal compared to Q3 2012.
Sky Go is free to all TV subscribers - giving them the opportunity to enjoy pay-TV content on laptops, tablets, smartphones and other connected devices on the move.
Consumers are allowed to register two devices on which they can access Sky TV content.
For an additional £5 per month, consumers can sign up for Sky Go Extra, which permits access to two more mobile devices.
And based upon latest Sky figures, this premium mobile service - which launched in Q1 2013 - is proving popular.
Some 219,000 people signed up for Sky Go Extra during Q3 2013, taking the total number of users from 166,000 to 385,000.
