BT TV customers with a YouView set-box can now record content broadcast over internet channels, it has been announced.

According to BTCare Community Forums, the new feature has been added via a software update for BT's Humax YouView box.

It enables the device to record programmes from internet channels as well as aerial ones, and allows viewers to pause content, and skip forwards and backwards.

YouView explained that BT has been running a phased rollout of the new software update. Viewers have been receiving the update automatically overnight when they leave their set-top boxes on standby.

BT YouView viewers can record content broadcast on all BT Extra TV channels found in the guide from channel 400 onwards which have three dots under the number.

According to PC Advisor, TalkTalk TV viewers with a YouView box will also receive the software update, but there is no confirmed release date as yet.
