Mobile and tablet users can now watch content from 67 channels on the go, with nine more added to the service this week to mark the introduction of the Android app.

Alibi, Dave, Drama, Good Food, Home, Really, Watch, Yesterday and CBS Reality are all now available on Virgin TV Anywhere, giving viewers a wider range of options on the go.

The Virgin TV Anywhere app is free to all Virgin Media TiVo customers, and can be used whenever they have a Wi-Fi connection for their mobile device.

With the app, consumers can remotely manage their TiVo set-top box, rate shows, view recommendations, and prioritise recordings.

Scott Kewley, Virgin Media's Director of Digital Entertainment, said that with the arrival of these "fantastic" new channels, Virgin TV Anywhere is "undoubtedly the market-leading service for those who want to take the best of their home entertainment with them to watch wherever they are at no extra cost".

"We want to deliver the best experience for our customers every time so, we’ve taken the time to develop the Android version to ensure we’re delivering an unrivalled entertainment experience for our customers," he stated.

The Virgin TV Anywhere app is available across iPads, iPhones and iPod touches, and is now available to download from the Google Play Store.

From this week it is compatible with a wide range of Android mobiles and tablets, including the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Sony Xperia Tablet Z, Google Nexus tablets and Samsung Galaxy Note.

Virgin Media says more Android devices are set to join the line-up in "the very near future".

And additionally, the service provider says it is looking to make its extensive on-demand library - which currently offers around 2,500 hours of content - available to mobile and tablet users.
