BT has launched its own January sale by offering super-fast fibre broadband at record low prices.
Households can get 2014 off to the best possible start with a 50 per cent discount on next-generation internet services.
They can pay just £7.50 per month for BT Infinity broadband for six months, then £15 per month for the remainder of an 18-month contract.
Standard BT broadband is also available at "knockdown prices" for all new customers.
Households seeking ADSL broadband services can pay just £5 per month for six months, and £10 per month thereafter.
The discount broadband deals will be available until mid-March, giving UK consumers plenty of time to switch to BT.
Pete Oliver, Managing Director of BT Consumer, said: "This is the season for that great institution, the traditional January sales.
"However, our customers will not need to queue on the streets for days or fight fellow shoppers to grab our lowest ever price for BT Infinity, as you just have to call BT or go online at www.bt.com/sale to sign up."
Mr Oliver noted that customers are looking to cut costs and are searching for "great bargains" to get the new year off to a flying start.
"This year, as well as that smart TV or shiny new fridge, customers can grab a top quality BT Infinity deal that will deliver super-fast speeds for the kind of price people were paying for dial-up a few years ago," he stated.
Customers signing up for BT broadband can take advantage of a number of package extras, including free Wi-Fi minutes and the Home Hub 5 wireless router.
And all BT broadband subscribers can watch BT Sport online for free - regardless of whether they have signed up for the firm's pay-TV service.
