UK consumers can now sign up for Plusnet Unlimited Broadband and Calls on a 12-month contract.

The broadband provider has reduced the minimum contract term from 18 months in order to offer extra flexibility to subscribers.

Plusnet Unlimited Broadband and Calls is available for just £2.50 per month during the first year, rising to £9.99 thereafter.

However, if subscribers want to switch broadband provider at the end of the discounted introductory period, they are free to do so.

Plusnet says the broadband package - which offers up to 16Mb download speeds - is "perfect" for large families, downloaders and gamers.

Subscribers can download as much data as they like over the course of the month, without incurring any additional charges.

A free wireless broadband router - containing four-port 'N' technology - is included as part of the deal, allowing users to get online anywhere in the home.

Subscribers can also take advantage of round-the-clock customer support - with UK-based service staff available 24/7. Plusnet Protect security software and access to the Plusnet Assist help tool is included too.

In terms of home phone services, Plusnet Unlimited Broadband and Calls comes with inclusive landline minutes at weekends. Customers can also make free calls to Plusnet phone customers and Plusnet Support at all times.

Two upgrade options are available, with Plusnet Anytime - which offers inclusive landline calls throughout the week - costing an additional £5 per week.

Plusnet Anytime International 300 - which offers 300 inclusive minutes to 35 international destinations - can be bolted on to the broadband deal for another £7 per month.
