Virgin Media has sweetened its premium broadband bundles with a special £100 credit offer.

New customers signing up for the firm's Premiere and VIP bundles see £100 knocked off their bill automatically, adding to the other perks of the TV, home phone and broadband packages.

Subscribers can also take advantage of a significant discount during the first six months of their contract. Premiere customers are able to save another £162 during this introductory period, while VIP subscribers can cut their bills by £326.70.

This is in addition to the £100 account credit new customers gain simply for signing up for a higher-tier Virgin Media Collection.

So what exactly do the respective TV, calls and broadband bundles offer?

Virgin Media Premiere includes unlimited broadband - with customers able to access up to 60Mb download speeds - a free wireless Super Hub, and a free connection.

The bundle comes with unlimited weekend calls to UK landlines and Virgin Mobile numbers, along with Wi-Fi calling via the service provider's SmartCall app.

In terms of TV services, the Premiere bundle offers more than 200 channels - 43 of which are in HD - a 500GB TiVo box, and an extra box for a different room.

The package includes BT Sport and ESPN - enabling viewers to enjoy Barclays Premier League football and Aviva Premiership rugby union - along with a number of entertainment channels such as Sky 1 and Sky Living.

Customers also receive a free six-month subscription to online streaming service Netflix, which offers hundreds of films, popular TV series and original shows such as 'Breaking Bad' and 'House of Cards'.

Virgin Media Premiere is priced at £25 per month plus line rental for the first six months of an 18-month contract, rising to £52 per month plus line rental thereafter.

The top-tier Virgin Media VIP Collection offers faster broadband services, unlimited anytime calls to UK landlines, and a wider range of television viewing options.

Subscribers can take advantage of unlimited 120Mb broadband, with a free wireless router and free installation, along with Talk Unlimited Extra - which offers cheaper international calls.

The VIP bundle offers a choice of more than 225 channels, including both Sky Sports and BT Sport - meaning subscribers can watch every Barclays Premier League football match broadcast on UK TV.

It also comes with a 1TB TiVo box, a second box for a separate room, access to Virgin TV Anywhere and - as with the Premiere Collection - free Netflix for six months.

For the first six months, the broadband bundle is priced at £50 per month plus line rental, rising to £104.45 per month thereafter.

Virgin Media Premiere and VIP customers also receive Catch Up TV services, Virgin TV On Demand and free customer support.
