Plusnet has been named Best Broadband Provider by technology magazine PC Advisor.co.uk.

A judging panel determined that the budget broadband provider is continuing to deliver high levels of service to end-users at affordable prices.

Andy Baker, Chief Executive of Plusnet, described the award as being "fantastic" for the firm - which was also named Best Budget Provider for the second year running.

"We’ve invested heavily in our customer services division in recent months, including opening a new service centre in Leeds, strengthening our advisor training and delivering a new phone system," he explained.

Mr Baker added that Plusnet intends to keep on improving, in order to add greater value to broadband customers.

PC Advisor’s Matt Egan commented that UK broadband consumers are enjoying "better value and performance" as download speeds increase and prices drop.

"We were pleased to see that satisfaction levels continue to rise, although there is clearly still work to be done," he stated.

Last month, Plusnet was victorious in the Best Value Home Broadband and Best Customer Service categories at the uSwitch Broadband Awards.
