Consumers who sign up for the TalkTalk International Boost for their home phone service are making significant savings as a result, it has been claimed.

According to TalkTalk, the average customer on this tariff spends three hours per month talking to friends and family abroad.

This means they save more than £30 each month on phone bills by signing up for the bolt-on phone upgrade.

The TalkTalk International Boost - which includes unlimited landline calls to 36 countries around the world - is priced at £3.50 per month.

Customers can sign up for one month at a time, with no ongoing commitment required.

Tristia Harrison, Commercial Director at TalkTalk, said: "It's great to see people making such good use of TalkTalk’s home phone boosts.

"Only a few years ago calling overseas involved a brief chat and a hefty phone bill, but now customers can spend as much time calling friends abroad as they can with those at home."
