Former Doctor Who David Tennant is starring in a new Virgin Media advertising campaign to promote its range of Big Bundles.

Customers can now mix and match broadband, mobile SIM, TV and home phone services in order to create their perfect deal.

In the first advert for these Virgin Media packages, entitled 'Power Drive', actor Tennant sets off driving in a clapped-out Reliant Robin bemoaning slow and unreliable copper broadband.

At the mention of Virgin Media's super-fast fibre-optic speeds, the three-wheel vehicle becomes a bright red sports car.

This in turn transforms into a rock star tour bus, kitted out with Virgin Media TiVo services, home phone and a mobile SIM.

Virgin Media founder Sir Richard Branson makes his customary appearance in the advert, skating behind the tour bus.

In the second ad, called ‘Power Flex’, Tennant is seen cruising along on a motorbike - comparing the experience to the freedom customers get with Virgin Media’s flexible Big Bundles.

He pulls a lever to add and remove Sky Sports to his package, before holding up a mobile SIM which turns into a dove and flies away.

Richard Larcombe, Brand and Marketing Director at Virgin Media, said: "The time has come for our blockbuster duo of Tennant and Branson to hit the road - after all, what better way to show off our supercharged services than from a supercharged vehicle?

"The ads celebrate the freedom and flexibility of our new unrivalled Big Bundles, helping turn Virgin Media customers into the Big Kahunas of the household."

The Big Kahuna is one of the new Virgin Media broadband bundles, offering 152Mb broadband, TiVo with over 230 TV channels, and home phone services for £45 per month.
