BT is aiming to improve the consumer experience for its television customers by refreshing the BT TV interface.

According to the service provider, BT TV Player is receiving "a fresh new look" that will make it easier and faster for viewers to find the programmes they want to watch.

Both YouView customers and those still using a BT Vision+ set-top box will benefit from the upgrade, which comes following user feedback.

New features for BT TV Player include more intuitive navigation, quicker links to recent activity on the homepage and a new colour palette.

The update will be rolled out to YouView box customers in July and to those with a BT Vision+ box in the autumn.

Alex Green, Director of BT TV, said it is "more than just a makeover" for the service.

He claimed the update will improve the performance of BT TV for customers, making navigation easier and faster.

"This follows our move from the BT Vision brand to simply using the BT master brand to cover our TV services," Mr Green stated.
