EE has become the latest UK service provider to launch a Christmas broadband deal, by offering cut-price unlimited internet and calls for 12 months.

New customers can pay just £1.95 per month plus line rental - down from the usual price of £9.95 per month plus line rental - for Broadband & Weekend Calls for the first year.

The copper-based broadband package offers up to 17Mb download speeds, with unlimited data and weekend calls to UK landlines.

New customers will receive a free wireless router, which allows consumers to get online via a range of devices anywhere in the home.

EE is also offering a discount on its Broadband & Anytime Mobile Calls package, which is ordinarily priced at £14.95 per month plus line rental.

This deal - which offers up to 17Mb download speeds, unlimited data, and anytime calls - is available at £7.45 per month plus line rental for six months.

EE is running the cut-price offer on broadband and calls until January 31st 2015.
