Virgin Media customers with a Sky Sports subscription can now stream live sport to their Android devices.

The Sky Sports app, which was previously only available for iOS devices, has been made available on Android smartphones, tablets and laptops.

As such, customers can watch live programming on Sky Sports 1 to 5, along with Sky Sports F1 and Sky Sports News HQ.

All they need is a 3G or 4G mobile broadband subscription, or access to a Wi-Fi connection.

Scott Kewley, Director of Digital Entertainment at Virgin Media, said: “The Sky Sports app for Android cements our position as the home of sports TV at home or on the move and means we now have a full complement of Android and iOS apps for both Sky Sports and Sky Movies.

"Our customers enjoy the same access to Sky Sports on the go as Sky customers."

All Virgin Media TiVo customers can access Virgin TV Anywhere for free from their iOS or Android device.

This means they can access 103 TV channels live over Wi-Fi or mobile broadband.
