Manchester's City's Barclays Premier League encounter with West Bromwich Albion is the centrepiece of BT Sport's football coverage this weekend.

Manuel Pellegrini's side - who sit second in the table, six points behind the leaders Chelsea - are running out of time to close the gap at the top.

With the leaders having a game in-hand, plus a valuable points advantage, City can afford no more slip ups.

The 1-0 defeat at Burnley last time out was further evidence of the champions' frailty; they just don't look like the same side as last year.

West Brom have been ticking along nicely under Tony Pulis, who has moved the Baggies up to 13th, eight points clear of the relegation zone.

Consistency has been hard to come by for the Midlands outfit, but 1-0 wins against Stoke City and Southampton in recent weeks have helped steer them out of trouble.

This isn't a game they are expected to win, so West Brom can travel to the Etihad with no pressure for this 12:45pm kick-off on Saturday March 21st.

As ever, there are plenty more games for BT Sport viewers to enjoy this weekend, starting with a Scottish Premiership clash between Motherwell v Hamilton Academical at 7:45pm on Friday evening.

Over on BT Sport 2, Hamburg v Hertha Berlin gets the Bundesliga action underway from Germany's top flight at 7:30pm.

Saturday morning begins with the usual Hyundai A-League double-header, which this week features Western Sydney Wanderers v Newcastle Jets (6am) and Adelaide United v Melbourne Victory (08:30am).

There's another live game from the Scottish Premiership at lunchtime, as title-chasing Aberdeen travel to seventh-place Dundee at 12:15pm.

Up next is Schalke 04 v Bayer Leverkusen at 5:30pm, with Toulouse v Bordeaux following from France's Ligue 1 at 7pm.

The first live Serie A fixture of the weekend on BT Sport is AC Milan v Cagliari from the San Siro at 7:45pm.

Sunday March 22nd begins with Central Coast Mariners v Perth Glory from Australia at 4pm, before Brisbane Roar take on Wellington Phoenix at 6am

There's three live games from Italy during the day: Empoli v Sassuolo at 11:30am, Juventus v Genoa at 2pm and Sampdoria v Inter Milan at 7:45pm.

The live Bundesliga games are Mainz v Wolfsburg (2:30pm) and Bayern Munich v Borussia Monchengladbach (4:30pm), while there's also two Ligue 1 clashes in the form of Reims v Monaco (4pm) and RC Lens v Marseille (8pm).

Fans of Portuguese football can tune in to Sporting Lisbon v Vitoria Guimaraes from the Primeira Liga at 6pm.
