aston villa v southampton

Southampton's home game against a resurgent Aston Villa is this weekend's televised game on BT Sport.

The seventh-place Saints - whose Europa League qualification hopes remain very much alive - take on 14th-place Aston Villa, who have hauled their way out of the relegation dogfight in recent weeks.

Tim Sherwood's side have claimed 12 out of 15 points to move clear of the bottom three, and will be safe barring a freakish set of results over the last two weekends.

Southampton have had enjoyed a great 2014-15 campaign, even if they appear to have run out of steam in the final third of the season.

Ronald Koeman's side are without a win in four games, and will hope to finish strongly by taking three points off the in-form Villans.

BT Sport viewers will be able to watch Southampton v Aston Villa at 12:45pm on Saturday May 16th.

There are plenty more games to look forward to on the pay-TV service this weekend, including some crucial, season-defining matches.

The action begins with St Johnstone taking on the newly-crowned champions Celtic in the Scottish Premiership at 7:45pm on BT Sport 1.

On Saturday evening, there's action from Serie A, as Sampdoria face Lazio at 7:45pm, and also Ligue 1, as Montpellier take on PSG at 8pm.

Sunday's schedule gets underway with Melbourne Victory v Sydney FC in the Hyundai A-League Grand Final at 7am. This is the game the early morning risers - who have been following the Australian top-flight throughout the season - have been waiting for.

Sassuolo v AC Milan is live at 11:30am, before non-league football's showpiece event - the Vanarama Conference Play-Off Final at Wembley (kick-off 2pm).

Ex-Football League clubs Bristol Rovers and Grimsby Town will compete for the chance to rejoin the '92' and compete in the fourth tier next season.

At 3:30pm, Rangers face Queen of the South in their Scottish Premiership Play-Off Quarter-Final 2nd Leg, with the Ibrox club holding a one-goal advantage from the first leg.

There are two evening fixtures on live TV: Roma face Udinese in Serie A at 7:45pm, before Santos take on Cruzeiro in Brazil's top flight at 8pm.
