1Gb broadband services are set to be rolled out at a £3.4billion residential development in Wembley Park, north London.

Hundreds of homes at the development - which is situated close to Wembley Stadium - will be able to take advantage of the UK's fastest broadband speeds.

At present, download speeds of 100Mb are available on the new-build estate.

Quintain, the developer, says broadband provider Velocity 1 has deployed "world class" fibre broadband at Wembley Park.

The deployment of full-fibre cables during construction work at the development will allow 1Gb upgrades to be made available.

Phillip Clapperton, of Velocity 1, said the availability of ultra-fast broadband makes the area ideal for tech companies, who need access to high speeds and plenty of bandwidth.

"But there is also an incredible benefit domestically," he stated.

"How many homes in the UK can get 1Gb broadband? At Wembley Park 475 homes are currently being sold and all of them will have access to 1Gb broadband."
