BT has rolled out a preview for its forthcoming free sports channel, BT Sports Showcase, across Freeview, YouView and EE TV electronic programming guides (EPGs), coinciding with the announcement of its line-up of live Premier League games for the early stages of the season.

Later this summer, BT will add to its breadth of sports programming by launching BT Sport Europe, which will tie in with the telecoms giant's £900 million acquisition of Champions League and Europa League rights for the next three years.

The channel will screen every tie from both European club competitions, but BT broadband subscribers who currently receive BT Sport for free will have to pay an additional £5 on top of their subscription to receive BT Sport Europe, in addition to BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and BT Sport ESPN.

BT's trove of live Premier League games, which it has been confirmed will get underway this year with Manchester United vs Spurs on August 8th, will remain on the existing BT Sport channels. You can check out BT's early-season schedule of live Premier League games in the table below:

15 August 2015 12:45pm Saturday Southampton Everton
22 August 2015 12:45pm Saturday Manchester United Newcastle United

12 September 2015 12:45pm Saturday Everton Chelsea

The channels will be free to BT TV subscribers, however, and also rolled out to Sky and Virgin Media customers, albeit at a premium.

BT Sport Showcase is currently providing a glimpse of what customers can expect in the future, which will include screening every Champions League game featuring a British club for free, plus 14 Europa League matches in 2015/16.

In addition, BT will show a minimum of nine Aviva Premiership rugby games on BT Sport Showcase for free next season, with other popular sports such as WTA tennis, Moto GP racing and UFC in the running for the complimentary treatment.

BT Sport Showcase is currently available to sample on digital terrestrial EPGs on channel 59.
