arsenal v spurs

Sky Sports has added some of the biggest derbies in English football to its live coverage of the Barclays Premier League in October and November.

Viewers in October can enjoy the Merseyside (October 4th), Tyne-Wear (October 18th) and Manchester (October 25th) derbies exclusively live, as well as the huge clash between Arsenal and Manchester United on October 4th - a fixture that has proved to be decisively heated and entertaining in equal measure over the years.

The following month starts with Southampton taking on south coast rivals Bournemouth on the 1st, before battle lines are drawn in north London as Arsenal take on old foes Tottenham a week later.

Elsewhere, Brendan Rodgers will hope his Liverpool side can stake an early claim for the title as they head to the Etihad to face Manchester City on November 21st.

A total of 22 fixtures will be screened over the two months, bringing the running total to 46 for the season so far, with Sky having the rights to show 70 more from the end of November.

Every club will be televised at least twice, with last season's top four sides appearing six or more times each before the end of November.

Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis said leading the autumn coverage with some of the biggest derbies in the league was the ideal way of further building excitement ahead of the new season.

He said: "Rivalry adds to a sporting contest and with a number of derby matches in October and November there is a lot to look forward to."

As well as coverage of the Premier League, Sky subscribers can enjoy 127 matches from the Sky Bet Football League, the Capital One Cup, UEFA Euro 2016 qualifiers, the SPFL and Scottish Cup, as well as the MLS and Eredivisie.
