Virgin Media news

Virgin Media is set to be the first provider in the country to offer every sports channel available in the UK, after signing a deal to add BT Sports Europe to its offering.

The new channel, which offers exclusive coverage of UEFA Champions League and the Europa League, is set to launch on August 1st 2015.

It is one of three new channels to launch on BT Sport later this summer, coinciding with the start of the new football season.

Tom Mockridge, Virgin Media CEO, said: "If the football is on, we'll be showing it. Virgin Media is still the only provider that offers you front row access to all the live sporting action at home and on the go."

No updates have yet been made to Virgin's existing sports packages, but once everything is confirmed customers subscribing to both the BT Sport and Sky Sports options will have access to over 30 sports channels.

Meanwhile, BT Sport recently revealed it is working with Ericsson to launch a new Ultra HD channel.
