Plusnet customers have suffered from restricted access to the company's website for two days, after it reportedly suffered an unspecified failure that began on Thursday afternoon (August 27th).

As well as the website, the issue also affected the provider's webmail and members centre services, and although services were restored today (Friday August 28th), Plusnet Support's Adam Walker took steps to keep customers up to date.

“As you may notice we’re experiencing some problems with access to our website and also our internal systems," he said.

"This means that we won’t be able to view your account when calling us and can only offer generic advice, so we’d advise not calling unless there’s an urgent issue at the moment.

Mr Walker said that this meant the company - which regularly promotes its UK-based customer service - was unable to make a service status announcement.

Reports claim the reason for the problem is still unknown, although a similar issue affected rival provider TalkTalk last week.
