New BT customers are being offered a prepaid MasterCard as an incentive to sign up for broadband and calls packages.

The BT Unlimited Broadband & Calls deal includes broadband speeds of up to 17Mbps and no limit on downloads, as well as free weekend calls, unlimited BT Wi-Fi minutes and a free BT Sport pack.

The 12-month contract, which costs £5 a month plus £17.99 line rental, also features a free BT Home Hub 4 and 5GB of cloud storage, as well as online security and BT's SmartTalk app.

However, the eye-catching sweetener for many prospective customers is likely to be a prepaid MasterCard worth £50.

A free prepaid MasterCard - this time worth £100 - also comes with the BT Infinity Unlimited Broadband & Calls package.

This 12-month contract costs £10 a month plus £17.99 line rental and offers speeds of up to 38Mbps, which BT says is five times faster than the average standard broadband speed in the UK.

Also included are weekend calls, a BT Sport pack, a free BT Home Hub 5 and 5GB of cloud storage, plus online security and the BT SmartTalk app.
