BT Sport is to show Real Madrid and AS Roma's upcoming UEFA Champions League clash on its Freeview channel BT Sport Showcase.

The home side have won the European Cup a record ten times and beat their opponents 2-0 in the first leg back in February.

AS Roma therefore face an uphill task in this second leg of the first knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League in order to reach the quarter-finals. The match kicks off at 19:45 on Tuesday March 8th.

Freeview viewers will also be able to enjoy the key UEFA Europa League clash between Spanish giants Valencia and Athletic Bilbao. The last-16 match gets underway on Thursday March 10th at 20:05.

Simon Green, Head of BT Sport, said: “Freeview viewers will once again be able to see UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League matches with some of the best players in the world on show.

"It’s great to be able to give Freeview viewers the opportunity to experience BT Sport’s exclusively live coverage on BT Sport Showcase.”

BT Sport Showcase will also be catering for rugby union fans in the coming weeks, with the Aviva Premiership clash between Northampton Saints and Harlequins being shown for free on Easter Sunday (March 27th) at 15:00.

"We are delighted to broadcast Aviva Premiership Rugby on BT Sport Showcase," Mr Green said. "All are heading towards the end of the season and are fighting it out with the hope of lifting silverware at the end of the season."
