EE has launched a new promotion to entice people to switch over from other broadband providers.

The company is now offering £50 credit to anyone who chooses to leave their existing provider early and switch over to its services.

This will be credited to the customer's account, after they have shown EE their latest bill proving they were in contract to another provider at the time they ordered EE broadband and required to pay termination charges.

The move comes shortly after the government outlined plans to make it easier for people to switch their broadband contracts within just a week.

Ministers want to make seven-day switching a reality by next year, as they believe many consumers feel switching is currently too cumbersome and difficult.
