Plusnet news

Some Plusnet customers are set to benefit from faster fibre broadband, but price rises are also on the horizon.

From September 1st, existing customers on the ISP's Unlimited Fibre package will see their 'up to' speed increase from 38Mbps to 52Mbps.

However, Plusnet is following in the footsteps of the likes of BT and raising the price of its monthly line rental from £16.99 to £17.99. Furthermore, there will be increases of 50p for its two calling plans, with the price of its Evening and Weekend and Anytime packages climbing to £3.50 and £6.50 respectively.

Plusnet said in a statement that it occasionally need to implement price increases so that it is "able to continue providing you with an award-winning service".

"Over the past year we’ve been working really hard to make improvements to our products and services that will make your experience as a Plusnet customer better than ever," it stated, adding that investments have been made in its network and in more staff for its customer service centres.

The firm was also keen to point out that customers who opt to pay for their line rental in advance will see the price frozen at an equivalent of £15.49 per month.
