BT broadband services in many parts of the UK have been affected by a technical fault.

Some of its customers have been unable to access websites because of power issues at one of its internet peering partners' sites in London.

Shortly after 09:00 today (July 20th), BT confirmed it is aware of the problem and working to get it fixed as soon as possible.

The outage appears to be widespread, with reports of problems being received from London and the south-east, Birmingham, Leicester, Liverpool and Sheffield.
