Sky is offering students the chance to access unlimited broadband free of charge.

Whereas the Sky Unlimited Student Broadband deal usually costs £10, students can now sign up for free for nine months and are able to join without having Sky TV.

This means young people can download an unlimited amount of music, videos and photos during term time.

The package offers broadband speeds of up to 17Mbps, as well as pay as you talk calls.

Subscribers will also receive a Sky Hub that is simple to set up, access to Sky's Tech Team, internet protection from Sky Broadband Shield and unlimited Sky Wi-Fi at no extra cost.

Customers will only have to pay £17.40 a month in line rental costs, which Sky says is cheaper than the standard rate charged by BT, TalkTalk and Virgin Media.
