Plusnet has announced the launch of a 4G mobile phone service based on EE's network, to add to its existing TV, telephone and broadband offering.

The service, which will be named Plusnet Mobile, will launch on November 29th and is the "result of LIFE Mobile, part of the EE business, and Plusnet joining forces".

Customers can pre-register for the new service from today (November 14th). Existing LIFE Mobile customers will be automatically transitioned over to Plusnet Mobile in the coming weeks.

Tariffs start at £5 per month for monthly allowances of 500MB of data, 250 minutes and 500 texts. The top-end package is £15 per month and includes 4GB of data per month and unlimited calls and texts.

Andy Baker, chief executive of Plusnet, said: "This is an incredibly exciting moment in our company’s history.

"True to our Yorkshire roots, Plusnet has always prided itself on offering customers more for less, and extending our offering to include a mobile service is a natural next step as we move to become a full-service quad-play provider. "

Mr Baker added that the launch of Plusnet Mobile means the company can help more people stay connected "on-the-go with our fantastic data-packed deals and highly competitive rates".
