The Liberal Democrats have said they want to ensure every property is provided with a superfast broadband connection by 2022.
The party's general election manifesto states that it wants every home to get access to download speeds of 30Mbps and upload speeds of 6Mbps, as well as an unlimited usage cap.
In addition, the party has pledged to invest £2 billion in innovative solutions to ensure the provision of high-speed broadband across rural areas.
The Lib Dems would also work with local authorities and provide grants to help areas emulate the success of existing community-led projects.
The manifesto also includes a commitment to making sure broadband connections and services provided before 2020 have a speed of at least 2Gbps.
Fibre-to-the-premises would be rolled out as standard, with unlimited usage by 2020 nationwide.
"SMEs should be prioritised in the rollout of hyperfast broadband," the manifesto adds.
