Sky Sports is launching a new channel devoted exclusively to THE PLAYERS Championship on May 8th.
The channel will offer 45 hours of live coverage of the flagship golf tournament, as well as special preview shows, behind-the-scenes features and documentaries.
This will be complemented by extensive coverage from Sky Sports' digital and social teams, with additional content being created for people following the action online.
Sky Sports News will also be following THE PLAYERS, a competition regarded by many as the unofficial fifth major.
Jason Wessely, Head of Golf at Sky Sports, commented: "THE PLAYERS has the look and feel of a major, with the world’s best taking on one of golf’s most spectacular courses.
"We’re incredibly excited to give the tournament the Sky Sports treatment, including a variety of new features to keep fans on top of the action.”
Another highlight of Sky's coverage will be the launch of its Sky Zone studio on the range at the tournament.
This will give viewers a detailed insight to how players warm up for big games, as well as their swing and practice techniques.
In addition, the likes of David Livingstone, Butch Harmon, Paul McGinley and Rich Beem will be among those providing expert analysis on the golfing action.
This is part of an extensive roster of golf coverage that Sky Sports has lined up this year, as it also holds the rights to The Open, the US Open and every PGA and European Tour event.
