Sky Sports's coverage of the new Sky Bet English Football League (EFL) season will kick off with Sunderland vs Derby.
The game commences at 7.45pm on Friday August 4th and both sides will be eager to get the season off to a strong start.
Sunderland were relegated from the Premier League last season and will hope to win promotion at the first attempt, while Derby are also targeting a return to the top flight.
In addition, Sky Sports will offer live coverage of Aston Villa vs Hull City on August 5th and Bolton Wanderers vs Leeds United on August 6th.
Gary Hughes, Head of Football at Sky Sports, believes these opening three live fixtures "epitomise the Championship", as they feature big names, big clubs and will be highly unpredictable.
"All six teams will feel they belong back in the Premier League and we can’t wait to see how they begin their respective campaigns," he said.
"The first game can shape a season so they’ll be desperate to impress in front of the cameras."
Sky Sports will be showing 127 EFL fixtures exclusively live this season, including the play-offs.
The provider will also be showing action from the newly named Carabao Cup, including Colchester United's game against Aston Villa on August 9th and Bury vs Sunderland on August 10th.
"It’s all part of another stellar season of football on Sky Sports, which features 126 matches from the new Premier League season, all in Ultra HD on Sky Q," Sky Sports said.
