SSE has revealed it is scrapping its fixed term broadband contracts and cutting its monthly charges by £5.
This means its SSE Everyday Broadband bundle, which offers download speeds of up to 17Mbps, will cost £21 a month to customers with an existing SSE Energy account.
Non-SSE Energy customers will be required to pay £26 per month.
Meanwhile, the SSE Superfast Fibre Broadband package will cost £28 a month to energy subscribers and £33 to customers who get their energy from elsewhere. This deal offers download speeds of up to 38Mbps.
Finally, the SSE Ultrafast Fibre Broadband bundle, which offers download speeds of up to 76Mbps, costs £35 per month to people with an SSE Energy account and £40 to non-SSE Energy customers.
People who get their energy from another provider will also be required to pay a one-off initial £50 connection fee.
SSE added that it will guarantee fixed prices for three years, which means customers do not have to worry about mid-contract price hikes.
